Baby Care Classes

Oh baby! It's an exciting time for you as a new parent, but it might also be a little overwhelming.

MRHS offers free baby care and parenting classes throughout the year. They are free to attend and all start at 6:30 pm in conference room 1. The classes are taught by RNs and there is no preregistration required.

Childbirth Education

Series of 3 - 2 hours per session This series teaches you in an informative and interactive way. You'll learn more about: labor and delivery; breathing techniques; relaxation techniques; comfort measures and postpartum care. You will also tour the birthing center during your last visit.

Breastfeeding Education

1 class - 2 hours This one session class is both for expectant parents who are planning to breastfeed, and those who are undecided.Information provided in the class includes: advantages of breastfeeding; positioning; knowing if your baby is adequately fed; breast milk expression and storage.

Baby Care Education

Series of 2 - 2 hours per session This class addresses basic knowledge of your baby’s needs - to help ensure a smooth adjustment for your growing family. Our small group size allows for demonstration, practice and discussion that includes: basic daily care; dental care; immunizations; responding to emergencies (including infant CPR); postpartum and parenting; speech and language development.
