Nurse Practitioners

Madison Regional Health Nurse Practitioners have close working relationships with physicians. Nurse practitioners conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order tests, interpret results, complete office procedures and write prescriptions.

Amber Johnson, CNP

Amber Johnson, CNP

Degree: Master of Science Degree in Nursing, South Dakota State University Certification: Family Medicine Areas of Interest: Pediatrics, neonatology, pediatric surgery and general surgery Background: Amber has several years of experience as both an RN and CNP in both pediatric and neonatal critical care, pediatric surgery, and general pediatric care. She also has experience in the urgent and acute care settings. Amber is trained in ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course), APLS (Advance Pediatric Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), previous PALS Instructor, NRP (Neonatal resuscitation program) and S.T.A.B.L.E. education program with focus on stabilization care of sick infants. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Amber sees patients of in every stage of life at the clinic and provides coverage for Urgent Care. Meggan Reisch, CNP

Meggan Reisch, CNP

Degree: Master of Science in Nursing, University of South Alabama Certification: Family Medicine Areas of Interest: As a nurse practitioner Meggan feels caring for the whole person is the most important aspect of health care. Family medicine includes caring for patient's from "womb to tomb", and she is passionate about caring for all patients newborn to end of life and all those in between. With several years of experience in Critical Care nursing she excels in caring in the fast paced settings of Urgent Care and ER. Meggan provides care in the areas of acute illnesses, chronic illnesses, and preventative medicine. Background:Meggan has a background in pediatric intensive care, pediatric flight nursing, intensive care unit. She has also received honors from Sigma Theta Tao Honor Society. Meggan is trained in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course), ALS (Advanced Life Support), ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), PALS Instructor, and S.T.A.B.L.E. education program with focus on stabilization care of sick newborns. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Meggan sees patients in the Clinic, Emergency Room and provides coverage for Urgent Care during evenings and Saturday mornings. Meggan has clinic appointments available for patients in every stage of life, from birth to senior adult care. She also provides coverage for Urgent Care and ER. Diabetes Support Group

Our free diabetes support group is for individuals, families and care givers. It gives you a chance to connect and share with others. Some of the topics include nutrition, wound care, medications and eye care. The group meets the first Tuesday of the month from noon to 1:00 pm in the conference room at Madison Regional Health System. Sponsored by the MRHS Diabetes Education Program, which is certified by the American Diabetes Association.
