Madison Hospice provides caring and support for people with a terminal illness. The patient must agree to comfort care, not curative care, and have a life expectancy of 6 months or less. The hospice team, which includes physicians, social workers, registered nurses, aides, volunteers and clergy, focuses on the quality of life and believes that the end of life, instead of being a painful and fearful experience, can be a time of care, comfort, enrichment, resolution and love.

Care is provided in the warmth and comfort of the patient's home or residential facility, with short-term hospital care also available. Our staff assures that the patient's pain and symptoms are under control so that they may live their last days in comfort, surrounded by family and friends. Bereavement care is also available.

Madison Hospice is a branch of Avera McKennan Hospice. Services are provided 24 hours per day. Regular office hours are from 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday. For more information, call 605-256-8590.
