New Ionization System at MRHS

Madison Regional Health System recently installed the Needle Point Bipolar Ionization System. This new ionization system will increase virus ventilation, which will improve overall air quality, making it safer for staff and patients. The system is installed in the air handlers and works around the clock to produce millions of ions which seek out all kinds of pathogens to destroy them.

“Along with being a step ahead on filtration and ventilation, we have now done everything there is to do to provide safe and quality air inside the facility,” stated Kenny Johnson, Director of Environmental Services.

Some highlights of the system include that it kills pathogens such as fungi, E. coli, MRSA, H1N1, legionella and much more. This system is self-cleaning, maintenance-free, eliminates odors and increases energy efficiency. It neutralizes 99.4% of SARS-CoV-2 in just thirty minutes according to a recent US Defense Department study.
